Waiting on the Ship.....

Today, (Thursday) is a kick back day.....getting organized and just waiting for our big day tomorrow.  After a small breakfast this morning we decided to go have a look at the ship terminal and the pier area so we would sort of know what to expect tomorrow.....   We did see that even though the terminal itself is long, our shuttle can drop us off right out front next to the entrance so we should be able to get a cart to help with all the luggage easily...  The Pier is an interesting place, all sorts of people, vendors, harbor tour booths....  people just trying to make a living.

For those of you who care, Denali is happy in his parking place for the next month....we checked on him this morning and he will be fine, watching out after all the little cars around him and will probably think he owns the whole garage...  He will have a little sunlight each day but is well protected from the elements.

The lights of the city were beautiful last night from our room but it was too cool to stand on the balcony for very long.....

As we were walking around this morning I took just a couple of street shots.... San Diego is a beautiful city, very clean from what I can tell so far.....I'm sure it has it's places where it might not be so clean, but the public areas are....   It's fun to just "people watch" from our room since we have such a great view below.   Store keepers often sweep out in front of the hotels and restaurants around us.....  People are running, walking, strolling, and riding bikes everywhere....the always seem to be in a hurry....

It was cool out walking around - light jacket weather,  so about noon we went into a little italian restaurant and had a pizza for lunch, it was sooooo good.  They have a full menu, but they advertise their "Capicola",  a special spicy ham so we had that on our pizza along with some onions, tomato & basil.  Yummy.....

We're supposed to meet some others at Denny's this evening at 6:00.....  Part of the group who are also going on the cruise who have been collecting donations for Fanning Island.  It will be fun to meet them.......

Tomorrow will be a big day...... We will need to get all the luggage on the shuttle, then get it off at the pier, locate help to get it on the ship and just hope everything makes it to our cabin.....  I'll post again after we board.  We have made our shuttle reservations for 12:30....  As I write this we're down to 24 hours and we should be on the boat!
